


INTRODUCTION to ACTING for TV and Radio
This beginner course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in Radio, TV, and Film. The course will focus on improvisation techniques, learning how to ‘act’ natural, as well as developing the self-confidence necessary to perform.
Canadian Actor Mark Antony Krupa works individually with each student’s spontaneity and creativity through various fun exercises. They’ll maximize the student’s potential and pave the way towards more advanced training if required. Students will get a very helpful overview of industry resources including talent agents, casting directors and actor’s union requirements (ACTRA / UDA. The instructor discusses individual career maps and materials like demos, CVs and headshots helpful to the student in career advancement..

ACTING for TV and FILM (8 students max)
This intermediate course is designed for students with acting / performance experience who are interested in perusing a potential career in the TV and Film industry. The emphasis is on spontaneity and improvisation in order to foster creativity, expanding each student’s role-repertoire, and the breakingdown of barriers that may stand in the way. Auditioning techniques will be explored and the individual needs of each student will be catered to in order to maximize each student’s portfolio, including head-shots and scenes for demo reels. An overview of industry resources will also be provided, including Union parameters (ACTRA / UDA) and the breakdown of talent agents.
Classes will focus on scene-study, character development, and practical exercises that enhance skills for the ‘working’ TV and Film actor. Students are encouraged to perform in both English and French. (Auditions or interviews will be held to ensure all students have a performance background.)
The WRITE to ACT – advanced classes ( 6 students max)
This customized group series is designed for performers who seek to explore their writing / producing
skills as well as enhance their acting prowess. The focus is the completion of a short film script which can be produced and submitted to major film festivals. Students are expected to do “home-work” and prepare scenes for the following class, in order to push their creative potential. An overview of the writing / production milieu will also provided.
The teacher will provide feedback and a follow-up based on each individual’s personalized needs. Though scenes from professional films will be examined, the majority of scene-work will stem from the students work, characters, and experiences.

Mark A. Krupa
Mark has been an outdoor writer, photographer, and actor for the past 20 years. His TV and film credits include: SILENT NIGHT, SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL, THE LAST TEMPLAR, L’INCOMPARABLE MADEMOISELLE “C”, POLICE 10-07, OMERTA, and HUMAN TRAFFICKING.
Recently, he wrote, co-produced, and played the lead role of Bjorn Magnusson in his first feature film, THE WILD HUNT, which won several coveted awards, including: Best First Canadian Feature at The Toronto International Film Festival, the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at Slamdance, and Canada’s top 10 films in 2010.
A passionate lover of the outdoors, especially angling, Mark hosted his Hooked with Mark Krupa adventure series which aired internationally and he is currently in development with season two. Moreover, he has hosted two seasons (104 episodes) of Zooville, a children’s educational series about animals in urban settings on SRC.
In addition to teaching drama to youth for over 10 years, Mark is completing his master’s degree in Dramatherapy at Concordia University. He is currently developing his next feature film and TV series projects.
