Voice

The principle objective of this course is the preparation and production of a ‘demo CD’ suitable for submission to a professional talent agency, including employment in the voice-over broadcast industry. This unique course is also designed for people who want to speak English with clarity and confidence by improving their articulation and voice quality.

The demo CD consists of an introduction track, a selection of produced spots (commercials), a corporate and/or documentary read, and character voices.

Classes consist of instruction in voice and microphone techniques and voice-over training in radio studios. Small classes, (maximum 5) and a one student-to-studio ratio, allow students to apply their theory in a professional state of the art environment. Professional broadcasters on a one-to-one basis provide immediate commentary and suggestions.

This 5-week course takes place Fridays in the downtown studios of The Montreal Radio and Television School. Students benefit from extra studio time during the rest of the week.

Upon completion of the course, the student receives The Montreal Radio and Television School Certificate in Voice Production. In addition, the graduate leaves the school with a professionally produced demo CD, containing the best of the student’s performance.

SCHEDULE: Friday 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 noon + 2 hours a week of extra studio time
